The photographic work
Jørn Zoëga lives and works in Copenhagen, DK. He works with straight photography put in an artistic context. One could say that his photographs are the link between painting and photography, he is heavily inspired by the New Color Photography movement. Though sometimes with a detour into black and white.
His working method is taking over the landscape or urban space, investigating form and color, working with the ambiguity of photography. Exploring room and space. The places could really be anywhere. At the same time, it is a kind of inner landscape where he visually, aesthetically and poetically interacts with the scape.
In addition, the images are a record of contemporary cultural landscapes and the shared space we find ourselves in. This results in an anthropological study of modern man’s surroundings, way of life and patterns.
The subjects
Are usually architecture and infrastructure where the landscape and people are juxtaposed against these two factors.
The technique
He works with both analog and digital photography. He will often use digital photography in the initial research phase and subsequently shoot analog versions to make the images more picturesque and poetic.
